Hello list members: The list has been rather quiet lately so I am posting again in hopes of finding anyone researching or having knowledge of this family. Thomas Cox, b. abt. 1798, VA, and his wife Matilda ???, b. abt. 1816, VA - they are listed in the Montgomery County VA Census in 1850 and 1860 and I have not been able to locate them after the 1860 Census. Their children listed in those census are: 1)John S. Cox, b. March 04, 1832, VA d. Feb 11, 1919, Summers County, WV. Married (1) Sarah Sowers, (2) Mary Palmer. 2) Samuel Cox, b. abt. 1833, VA. Married Elizabeth E. Bell, b. abt 1833, VA. 3) Daniel Cox, b. abt. 1833, VA. Married (1) Mary A. Coleman; (2) Sara Makes. 4) Arbella Cox, b. abt. 1841, VA. 5) Sarah C. Cox, b. abt. 1844, VA. My recent 37 Marker Y-DNA test has led me to one new COX researcher in MO with ancestors in KY. Comparison of information about our families show this test points to a period prior to 1800.
