Dear List, I am new to this list. Although I don't think my folks were in this county, I was advised to join. Perhaps there are Benson and Downs folks living in this county?? My great grandfather was John Benson Downs (born 1862), as was his father born 1824. I know that James Downs, the father of John senior was born in 1796 in Natural Bridge, Rockbridge Co., VA. My great aunt Mary Mabel Downs d/o John junior wrote that her Downs' lived in Hagerstown, before moving to Natural Bridge, VA. They may have lived in Loudoun County, VA also. Can anyone tie the Benson name in with a Downs family? Many thanks in advance! Peggy Price
