I have also found the name spelled as Earney. I have a number of books for Wythe and Washington County and found nothing. Sorry not helpful Chris

I'm trying to find information on a Peter Arney, born in 1772, in Tryon (now Lincoln) County, NC. Peter Arney moved to Virginia around 1792, married a woman named Margaret, and started his family. I have looked for any record of his marriage and possible record of his children born in VA. Peter Arney moved again around 1802 to Overton County, TN. So, my "window" is very short timewise (only 10 years). I have tried Wythe County, VA where it was been reported that the marriage took place, however I have been told that Wythe County may not have been it, that it may have been Montgomery County, VA. Does anyone know which part of the county the Matomora Post Office area was? My great great grandmother, Harriet Burton, was on the census of 1860 in that district. Could it be close to Price's Fork? I noticed that there were several Price families on the same page .And Harriet's brother, Robert settled in Price's Fork. Also, is there any online index or survey of Sunset Memorial Park in Christiansburg? It is not on the Genweb site yet. I have had both good and bad experiences dealing directly with cemeteries. I don't know if there is a connection, but I do have scant information on a E. L. Wirt. E. L. Wirt born Unknown, died Unknown, E L Wirt married Madie Cromer, daughter of Nathan Cromer and Lossie Craig, on Unknown date (guessing circa 1926 based on birthdate of Madie). Madie was born about 1908, she died after 1987 (possibly still living, unconfirmed) Any info we could exchange would be helpful... sorry I don't have more on the Wirts.
