I am looking for information on James L. C. Haislip born about 1839 in Montgomery Co, Va. Was married to Margaret Ann Smith from Craig Co. They were married 6-12-1870 in Craig Co. Mr. Haislip was a Montgomery Co. resident. Looking for his parents, he was a widowed man so I am looking for his first wife and children. My g-g-g-grandfather was William or Billy Hilton/Helton/Hylton. He was born in Montgomery County about 1824. I believe he is a descendant of Elizabeth Hilton and Henry Helton/Hilton. They were cousins according to Hilton Genealogy - From Castle to Cottage. Elizabeth was the daughter of the pioneer settlers Elijah and Susannah Hilton/Hylton. Henry and Elizabeth had the following six (6)children: (1) Austin, b. 1794, d.1879; (2) Hiram, d. 1880; (3) (Tinie) Valentine; (4) Solomon; (5) Celia;and (6) Delilah. Those were the only children that the author of Hilton Genealogy - From Castle to Cottage could find a record of.
