Gary, The map is circa 1864. I found Daniel Elam, brother to my John Elam residing around Little Buffalo Creek, a Mrs Elam (not sure who she is yet), around Woodpecker Creek and an Elam's Mill up in the upper northwest corner of the county almost on the Charlotte line. Any idea which Elam this mill is named after? I can see Yerby's Run (apparently a later rendering) where Irby's Branch should be but, by this time period, our Elams are gone from this area. It really is a great map! Kent At 01:58 PM 11/19/1999 EST, you wrote: >Hi, Kent! > >Have you noticed any Elam property owners on the map?
