    3. I see a reference to John Mays. I may be an anscestor of that person. I am descended from a John Mayes of Mecklenburg Co.--at least, his will was probated there and is on the website. But because Mecklenburg was split from Lunenburg in 1765, I figured I might have to go to Lunenburg to trace his birth and perhaps his marriage. The Mayeses (John Granderson Mayes, son of John ? Mayes above) went to KY between 1800 and 1805, and were known for founding churches (Presbyterian to my knowledge). If you'd like to follow up, I'd be glad to correspond and have run on to others who are doing research for Mayeses in Mecklenburg Co.
