The only John Thompson listed in the Mecklenburg Co Marriage Bond records for 1811-1853 is John W. (no Jr or Sr) whose marriage bond to Jane Graves is dated 20 March 1844. The Surety was Samuel Dedman. In the 1765-1810 marriage bonds, there are four John Thompsons. (No other name for any of them.) Bond date 8 May 1775 to Sarah Thompson, surety Asa Oliver; bond date 12 Jan 1795 to Phoebe Tisdale, surety William Thompson; bond date 13 Apr 1801 to Nancy Burnett; surety, Richard Burnett, minister William Creath; bond date 12 Oct 1807 to Mary Sally [properly Mary Salle'], surety Stephen P'Pool.
