Hi Victoria, I'm not familiar with the Jordan name as yet, althoiugh I'm also not up on who married who. That is a most common in NC,probably everywhere else as well.I believe there was a former Lt. Gov. from NC who was also a Jordan, from the Troy,NC/Montgomery Co. area. You spoke of the " Harper House " in Johnston or Wayne County. If it's the one I'm thinking of it was aprt of a plantation,or at least a huge farm during the Civil War. There was a battle between the Yanks and the Rebs on that property. The story says that ever since the house and land is haunted. There was to have been several people claim to have seen parts of the battle on certain nights as the Union soldiers and Confederates fought. Some people also told of a strong force ( wind ) blowing up one day on a still evening, and it came from the battlefield, blowing fierce winds on some people who were painting and restoring the house. Sorry for the interuption from the family name.Presently all I know is that my grandfather and his fmaily were from Mecklenburg County, VA and he later moived to Danville,VA. Richard
