Oh, yes...that would be important to know wouldn't it!!! He lived between ca 1775-1820. He lived adjacent to other families in Marion County, SC. Families that hailed from Southside Virginia including Mecklenburg/Lunenburg County and before that from Isle of Wight County. Just a hunch, as this surname isn't really all that common.
