Also, note Drury Smith 1755 Granville adjacent neighbor Jeffries, same as legal will of Peartree: *James Smith, Sons Nathaniel Smith & Drury Smith, 3-0-3 {cwh, Drury Smith Aaron Ck} *Osborn Jeffreys, Jeremiah Hilliard, George Heeth{Heath, Hite?}, Negroes Daniel, Will, --------I think this is our Drury Smith as Peartree Smith mentioned land on Aaron Ck: Richard Sanford [written over Sandifer] enters 424 acres in Granville County NC on Aarons Creek; border: Richard Duty, Drury Smith, John Harris, William Glass, John Pettipool{Pettypool}, & Robert Sandifer; issued 28 May 1778----Joseph Harrison to Peter Poole, 100 acres on Aarons Creek at Drury Smith's line; witness: Henry Phillip Hart, Luke Landers; 07 February 1763------ ----------Concerning Peartree Smith's right to land in possession of Alexander and Martha ?? Smith widow. Apparently Alexander Roberts borrowed money to finance at least one land purchase on Aaron Ck: 1773 20 July, Alexander Roberts of co of Mecklenburg to James Barnes of Charlotte Co., cons. 65 pd current money of Virginia which the said Alexander Roberts is justly indebted to him and honestly desires to secure and pay to him and for the further cons. of the sum of five shill like money to the said Alexander Roberts in hand paid by the said James Barnes...In the co of Meck cont. 150 a. by est., being the land the said Roberts now lives on the Lower or East side of Aarons Creek, with all appurtenances.
