Yes, we are looking for information which links the Wagstaff family to the Hurt family in Mecklenburg County. We have Mary Wagstaff married to William Hurt in the mid to late 1700's. She was the daughter of Basil Wagstaff. I believe that their son, Wagstaff Hurt is the same that ended up in Dyer County, TN and witnessed the marriage of William Hurt and E. Bowers in Nashville, TN in 1829. He would have been Wagstaff's nephew. The father of William Hurt may have been William Hurt, brother of Wagstaff. Does this tally with your information? Judith K.
