Hi, I'm new to the list and I'm trying to find out if there are any Pearson or Winn families and even Thomas families still living in the area that have ancestors from the 1800's. I'm particularly trying to find family of Tinsey Winn who with her husband Leonard Thomas owned a farm in Mecklenburg Co. in early 1800's. Leonard died abt. 1840 but Tinsey kept the farm. Later one of her daughters, Rhoda, married John Ira Drury Pearson and John later became overseer on the farm. John died during the Civil War in 1862 from an out break of measles in his camp but Tinsey and Rhoda and her children stayed on the farm I believe. I think Rhoda had about 9 children, one of them Stephen Pearson was my grandfather, my father's name was Ira Frank Pearson, born 1895 in Mecklenburg Co.and he had a sister Annie Pearson b.abt.1897.
