Hello Martha, I saw your email to Randy re: Rev. Benjamin Brown and Rachel who are buried at St. John's Church in Hampton, VA. I have a copy CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS ST. JOHN's CHURCH, HAMPTON, VA in which they are listed. The Church is about a mile or so from where I live. On his tombstone it says "Departed this life January 17th 1806 the Rev'd Benj'n Brown Rector of the Elizabeth City parish. Aged 39 Years." For Rachel, it reads "FILIAL affection raises this stone to the memory of MRS. RACHEL BROWN who died March 9, 1819 AE 59 If long suffering, and a pac ient resignation to divine will, find mercy in the - Creator Heaven surely must be hers" Hope this is of interest to you.
