Hi Linda, Don't know if it does much good, but my mother was native american and the only way I could trace her was through her birth certif. There are not that many tribes in Virginia but they are listed on internet. The tribes around Mecklenburg are Pamunkey,Mattopini,Chickhominy,Cherokee. Each reservation has a phone number I think.
