    3. Charles, I was glad that I could help you with the Allen's Creek location in Mecklenburg County, Va.! Are you related to the Talley family....or know anything about this family?? Apparently the Talleys and my Netherys were close neighbors and friends during the Civil War era and earlier. Henry Talley, who was in 2nd Co. G, 14th Virginia Infantry, Armistead's Brigade, C.S.A., wrote letters home from the field to his mother. Several times, he mentioned my great grandfather, GEORGE D. NETHERY, who was in the same Confederate unit with Talley. The latter would simply say something to the effect...."Tell the Netherys that George is doing fine", etc. In one letter, he asked his mother to send some clothes over to Mrs. Nethery to have them mended. The "Mrs. Nethery" would have been my great, great grandmother, and George Nethery's mother, Sarah Smith Nethery (ca. 1792 - 1876). If you know anything about HENRY TALLEY....or if anyone who gets this message does....I would appreciate hearing from you!! The place where the Talleys and Netherys were living was in Mecklenburg, southeast of Clarksville, near the Granville County, North Carolina line. At least, I think this is right?! Thanks to whomever can help me!!! Sincerely, Marshall Neathery At 10:14 AM 4/2/00 EDT, you wrote: >Henry Talley and John Hight owned land on Buckhorn Ck off S.
