Joshua Morgan, along with his wife, Beth/Elizabeth, and son Carey, received land in Mecklenburg Co, VA about 1780 from her parents, Charles and Mary Clay. They later had other children--Rolly Morgan, Nancy Morgan Rodgers, Elizabeth Morgan Beauford, and Samuel Morgan (1794-1824). Joshua's name is not on the Mecklenburg tax lists after 1796. The sons show up in Rutherford Co, TN in 1817. Where were they in the meantime? Thanks for any help. Carolyn Odle Smotherman
