It is 24" by 36" on a heavy "slick" paper that seems very durable. It is very readable and contains much detail. If it is within your budget, I don't think that you would be disappointed. Kent Elam

    3. Hi all! I am aware that the URLs in the body of my emails come through double. They are not double when I press the "Send" button, so there is nothing I can delete at that point. (I wish some techie person would let me know what is going on to cause this!) I receive the copy of the email, just as you do. I have found the first one is a complete URL, and if I click on that, I am in business. If I click on the 2nd one, it often is not entirely highlighted, as the remainder of it is on the next line, thus does not work. Since we have many different setups, that might not work for all. I was trying to be helpful by adding shortcuts. But apparently with many, it is causing a problem. Until some kind techie comes along and tells me what to do about it, I will refrain from putting the URLs in the body of the message. :)) What I have done is reset the default for the signatures of the web page sites to show at the bottom of each message I send. In the past, there has been no problem reaching the homepage by that route. (I had set the default to not include the signatures, as I felt you folks were tired of seeing it, and probably had the homepages bookmarked, anyway.) Once at the homepage, go to the Migration section that is not far from the top, just under the map. Once at the Migration page, do a bookmark so it will be easy for you to return.. Those of you who are still having a problem, email me privately, as I really do want to analyse it. 3. VAGenWeb has launched a MIGRATION PROJECT. The form is ready for Mecklenburg County.  I hope you will try it out and make us look good!  I entered one item to get it started.  Let me know if there is anything that is not clear about using it, or if you suggest any changes. The same was installed for Charlotte County the other day.. The Mecklenburg form can be reached from the VAGenWeb Migration page at: <http://www.rootsweb.com/~vagenweb/migrtion.htm>http://www.rootsweb.com/~va genweb/migrtion.htm Or from the Mecklenburg home page at: <http://www.rootsweb.com/~vameckle/index.htm#migration>http://www.rootsweb. com/~vameckle/index.htm#migration Let me hear, and I will be checking! 3. Wonderful, Kent! I wonder how we could get permission to scan and upload portions of the map? If anyone calls that number, please ask, but I don't know if anyone in the gift shop knows. I also wrote to Library of Congress about price, which of the two maps would produce the best results, and how to obtain permission for scanning and uploading. I expect a reply any day, so will pass that info along to the list, also. Also, for anyone's information (don't know what good it will do), 28 June 1973 issue of The Chase City Progress published a full-page 1870 map "Surveyed by Confederate State Engineer Corps." and published by Geo. B. Finch, Boydton, VA. It also shows family names, churches, post offices, etc. Even though it is fairly clear, it is still to eye-boggling to try to do lookups. We are well-versed on the copyright infringement of using items from newspapers. Such a shame. My mother used to send me historical articles from the Chase City Progress, along in the 1970's. Some wonderful old pictures of churches, houses, etc. I itch to scan them and upload for you folks. Many thanks, Kent.
