Hi group: Does anyone have any record of a William Jackson married to someone named Jemima ?. Dates would be early to mid 1700s. Probably living in Mecklenburg or Brunswick Co. VA. I would like to hear about any William Jackson living in VA during first half of 1700s. Many thanks, Boone White
Thanks Ed Waller and JoLee for the map! I don't mean to be picky, but is there any way I can get the part of Section 14 under the PALM to enlarge? Again thanks for all that work. Hi, I'm new to the list and I'm trying to find out if there are any Pearson or Winn families and even Thomas families still living in the area that have ancestors from the 1800's. I'm particularly trying to find family of Tinsey Winn who with her husband Leonard Thomas owned a farm in Mecklenburg Co. in early 1800's. Leonard died abt. 1840 but Tinsey kept the farm. Later one of her daughters, Rhoda, married John Ira Drury Pearson and John later became overseer on the farm. John died during the Civil War in 1862 from an out break of measles in his camp but Tinsey and Rhoda and her children stayed on the farm I believe. I think Rhoda had about 9 children, one of them Stephen Pearson was my grandfather, my father's name was Ira Frank Pearson, born 1895 in Mecklenburg Co.and he had a sister Annie Pearson b.abt.1897. If any one sees a connection and has any info about these families I would love to share info. Thanks, Charlotte Pearson Armstrong

Am new to this particular rootsweb area and hope someone can help. According to articles in the "Washington County (Kentucky) Bicentennial Book 1792-1992", : "John Hall was born Nov.22, 1762 in Virginia where he married Amelia Carter. His father, Willis Hall, had died in 1786. Although John was executor of his father's estate, his older brother William inherited the land by law. John and Amy were living in Mecklenburg Cty., Va in 1791 when the land was sold and they prepared to head to the lands of Kentucky. They arrived in Green County, Kentucky with their five small children". Another article in the same book indicates "John and Amelia were married in 1783 in Prince George County, VA," and that Willis' wife's name was Elizabeth. Am trying to find out anything I can about where Willis and his wife were born, how they got their land, what happened to William, the oldest son, etc. John and Amy were my g-g-g-g-g-grandparents. Thanks in advance. Joe Pulzone (Jdiamonds@aol.com)
