Dear List, I am searching for African American Chisholms, My Chisholms started in Louisa county, Virginia. My great great great grandmother was a slave by the name of Bridget. She was owned by David Chisholm Jr in 1804, David Chisholm Jr.moved his plantation into Chester, South Carolina. Her children were Edward and Hannah, and according to a deed in Florida Dudley and William Chisholm. After the death of David Chisholm, the slaves were passed on to his brother Thomas and then to his nephew Suprey Chisholm. In 1834 an estate sale listed Ned , /William and Dudley. By 1850 Ned was taken to Alachua County, Florida. It is believed that he was taken by Martha Ann Chisholm Lewis and her husband Edward Lewis to Florida. By 1867 my great great grandfather Ned Chisholm went back to Chester, South Carolina to bring his realatives to help with the planting of Sea Island cotton on his property. So what I am looking for is the descendants of Chisholms from Louisa County, Chester, South Carolina, Gainesville, Florida. If any Chisholm who have ties to this area please email me at this address.
