    3. Hi Donna, It can vary, particularly with the date range you are looking at. It can be anything from a hand-written permission from the parents to a form with a lot of information. I have seen a variety of information. At the least, it should have the name of the bride and the groom and the person swearing the bond that the marriage will take place in a brief amount of time, and if, for some reason, it doesn't take place, they will pay the amount of the bond. Often you will learn the names of close family friends and the like, in the form of who witnessed the bond. :-) Don't ask me the LOGIC of a bond, but that has been my experience. I have see hand-written permissions connected to the page of bonds/licenses in some courthouses. It can be almost comical at times. Something like, "Grooms father ______ appeared before magistrate and gave permission on _____ for the marriage of his daughter ____ to marry ____." So....it is a mixed bag. You might get a LOT of info, and you might not get much...
