    3. The chancery records indexed on this site are still at the Louisa Courthouse and can be viewed only there at this time. The early chancery records indexed on the Library of Virginia site are at the archives in Richmond and can be viewed only there at this time. I have been told there are plans to scan both sets of these records and put them online. When this will happen is anybodies guess. The earlier chancery records now at Richmond have been down there for over 30 years and just in the last 8 or 9 years been processed and indexed. The ones at the courthouse are a continuation of the ones in Richmond. The Library of Virginia index online now is indexed under style of the suit - a plaintiff and a defendant. The index just put online at this website is an almost every name in the suit. Often times the bill and the answer will give you just about all of the genealogical information if there is any but not always. Had to add not always as just about every statement can be amended!
