I've missed what this thread was about, but there was a Joseph Cary Eggleston, born 1812, reportedly in Amelia County, Virginia. He moved to Switzerland County, Indiana and married Mary Jane Craig. They were the parents of two famous authors, Edward Eggleston and George Cary Eggleston. I don't know who his parents were, but I know he was related to Miles Cary Eggleston, who was prominent in nearby Jefferson County, Indiana.
