    1. [VALOUISA] Excerpts from Partridge Accounts, Virginia Gazette, etc.
    2. Dear Carol, Thank you so much for pulling together that information about the colonial Harrises around Little River and New Market, etc. in Hanover Co. I am printing out your message and studying it further. I will have to add to my notes, of course. I have the Partridge [Store] Accounts as published in several issues of the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy but must have overlooked--or got distracted--about Robert Harris et al. (I see in your notes from the Partridge accounts an elusive umpteen great uncle Nathaniel Williams. Because Hanover Co. is a burned county, I call him elusive. He is reported to have had many prominent, politically active--and land acquisitive--sons.) When I acquired some months ago, Norine Campbell Gregory's book SOME ANCIENT LANDOWNERS IN SAINT MARTIN'S PARISH, HANOVER COUNTY, VIRGINIA [Athens, GA: New Papyrus Co., Inc., 2001], I received along with the book a detailed map entitled Hanover County Street Map produced by Hanover Co. Geographic Information System Section, 2l001. It has *New Market Site C* and not too far distant Little River Drive. Also, I see there is *New Market Mill Road*. (It is located south west of North Anna Battlefield County Park.) Another Hanover Co. ancestor, not associated with the Harrises until the late 1890s in Texas, also patented land in this general area. How exciting. Thank you for your generous contribution. It lends dimension to my families. E.W.Wallace ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
