    3. > Another Texan with Louisa County connections === I imagine there are pretty many of us. Louisa County seems to have been such a jumping off place to Tennessee. Seems like they got to Virginia Colony, stayed a generation or three, and just had to go West. And then so many Tennesseans just had to head on to Texas. I believe that there are several families in Louisa Co that---from looking at the censuses---came to Clarksville, Montgomery Co. Tn area about the same time (1830s). They retained those close ties in Montgomery Co. TN. There were many intermarriages both in Virginia & Tennessee.. My guess is that they were tobacco farmers in Louisa and then also farmed tobacco in Montgomery Co TN. My families in both places were Buck, Estes, Fletcher, Timberlake, Seay, Harris, and probably more. The only Thompson from Louisa Co VA I have is Mary Thompson, who married Joel Timberlake in Louisa County in 1814. I don't believe that they ended up in Montgomery Co TN, but at least two of Joel's siblings did. Warmest Regards, Donna
