    1. Re: [VALOUISA] the GUNTER family
    2. Hi Karen, Wonderful to hear from you and I will be happy to give you some information. Joseph Brown Gunter b 1 Sept 1807 VA d 6 Jan 1860 m. 22 Dec 1829 Frances Anne Talley. After the death of Joseph Gunter, Frances married 2nd John J. Day and 3rd, John Anderson. I have descendants from most of the children. Joseph Gunter was the 3rd son of Thomas N. Gunter b 1779 VA d and Mary 'Polly' Ware, daughter of Malachi Ware and Elizabeth ?, his first wife who died after bearing 4 children, he married 2nd, Elizabeth Brown. Children of Thomas N and Mary Ware Gunter: William D. Gunter, b 1800, my ancestor Susanna Gunter b 1802 Elizabeth E Gunter, b 1803 never married Jane D Gunter b 1805 Wilson H. Gunter b 1806 *Joseph Brown Gunter b 1807 Nancy A Gunter b 1810 Mary Gunter b 1810 After the death of Mary Ware in 1850 in Warren County, Illinois, Thomas m 27 May1852, Warren County, Illinois, Susanna Ware Almond, widow of Wyatt Almond, and youngest sister of Mary 'Polly' Ware. Thomas was the son of John Gunter, Sr b 1744 Lancaster, VA d 18 Nov 1816 Louisa, Va m 1783 Susanna Harris b 29 Jan 1758 VA d 1816, daughter of Capt. William Harris and Mary Hudson. John Gunter, Sr was the son of Charles Gunter b 1714 d 1750 Lancaster, VA m 15 April 1734 VA Judith Gutherie (Gutterie and various other spellings) It seems with the death of Charles Gunter she married Charles Daniels (who became guardians of her children) This is as far back at I have documented proof of the Gunter family. The family probably originated in England but there is no proof found so far that would link him to a Gunter family in England (many would disagree but then without positive evidence there can be no connection; simply, there is no documentation to support the claim) If you need more please ask, Karen Peggy in CA I do not have the descendancy of your William Talley, son of Nathan Talley, however. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
