    1. [VALOUISA] Arnetts of Louisa County.
    2. John Cook
    3. About a year ago, some Arnett cousins found the earliest record of our 3rd greatgrandfather, John Arnett. It is a purchase, from August, 1795, of land in Madison County, Kentucky. In it, John Arnett is said to be from Fayette County, Kentucky. This, and the names of the two wittnesses, Zachariah Arnett, and Samuel Arnett, seem to indicate that John Arnett is of their family, and their ultimate origin was in Louisa County. Now, the subsequent history of John Arnett is well documented, as is that of most of his descendants, and I'll be happy to share whatever I have. I am, however, concerned about obtaining proof of, or proof against, to conjecture that my 3rd greatgrandpa John Arnett is one of the children of James Arnett, and Susanna McGee. One of the hindrances, is that the John Arnett, who is listed as one of their children, is recorded as having married a Sarah Beadle. Well, their is really no documentation for this. It is merely stated in a book, and the person who provided the information is now dead, and no known notes survive. It is definitely known that my 3rd greatgrandfather John Arnett, in October of 1795, married the daughter of his new neighbor, Benjamin Duncan. So, if anyone should have information about any of these Arnetts, or their ancestors, it is both needed and appreciated. Thank you; John Cook --------------------------------- Yahoo! oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links.
