I am from a Pace family in Fluvanna county Va. There were some Pace-Houchins marriages. Here is some information sent to me by David P. Houchens.@@osu.edu in response to an inquiry by me on a Mary Cosby. John Chiles Houchens was the son of Stephen Houchins and Polly Chiles. John Chiles Houchens was born on Jun .1, 1816 and married Jane Smith Bragg on January 13, 1845 in Louisa County, and died September 20, 1869 in Louisa county. Mary Cosby married a John Houchins, son of Francis Houchins and Joyce Clements. He was a brother of Stephen Houchins, so he was the Uncle of John Chiles Houchins John's Aunt, Susannah Houtchens, Married a John Pace in 1759.All of their children were from Goochland. My grgrandfather was John R.Pace b. 1809 , in the Louisa County marriage records, their is' a marriage between a John Pace and a Elizabeth Pace b. abt. 1815. Could they be my grgrandparents? Could there be any connection to the above Jane Smith Bragg? looking for a maiden name for my grgrandmother,shown on Fluvanna Census Records as Elizabeth or Betsy P. Pace They had a son Richard A.Pace who married a Mary Susan Gregory He diied young and then Mary ( Mollie) Gregory m.
