    1. [VALOUISA-L] Correcting Dr. Harris' book
    2. Hi all, I agree it probably would be difficult to submit corrections to Dr. Harris' book but as I myself have spend a lot of hours trying to find the truth about what he published (and then discovered he mixed up generations in my Waddy family and missed people all together), I'd like to spare some people those problems. One of my distant Waddy cousins contacted Dr. Harris herself with questions about the Waddy line and he simply sent back what he had already published in the book, even though she disagreed with some of his conclusions. His "non-answer" (and this is not a criticism, I'm thankful for the clues he did give me about my Waddy line), caused her to waste a number of years going in circles, because what he wrote did not make sense with all the other information she had. Perhaps we could include a page just noting there are problems with the following family lines and then list the ones whose accuracy we question. Since Dr. Harris did not provide documentation, perhaps we could suggest readers check out Wayne Dunn's Louisa County page and we could post what we believe to be the true lineage. I'm happy to share what I have about the Waddy line (and I point out in the paper I wrote about the Waddys where both Dr. Harris as well as the Kentucky Genealogical Society have made understandable errors about the Waddy family) with anyone looking for them in Louisa County. Thanks for the interesting comments, Michelle Ule [email protected] Ukiah, CA
