I am hoping to find information on the burial place of William Synan, who married Sarah Terry on 9 January 1821. Sarah and William had the following children: William M. Synan who married Isabella unknown, Elizabeth had daughter Flora (neither of them married), Martha Synan married Ed Sumpter on 22 Jan 1850, James Manual Synan married Betsy Catherine Bibb in 1864 in Orange County, Virginia, Virginia Synan married Ed Taylor, and Edward Synan married Louisa C. Ogg. William Synan was killed in a train accident at Trevillan Station around 1846-1848. He was probably buried somewhere near Trevillians, perhaps on land owned by either the Bibbs or Terrys (speculation). William was an immigrant from Doneraile, Ireland. He came to the US in 1812 aboard a ship which was detained because of the war of 1812. At that time he was only 12 years old. He remained in the US and lived with friends of the Captain of the ship (or perhaps some family relations) first in Petersburg, VA. He later settled in Louisa County, married and raised his family there. He commuted to Charlottesville, VA and worked in the woolen mills there. His death was probably related to one of these commutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hubert V.
