Statham was m. in Fluvanna Co. in 1820. There were also other Stathams, all having the middle initial "D" who were married in the same time frame: John D. in 1817, Polley D. in 1822, Powhatan D. in 1825, Thomas D. in 1829, Judith D. [Dabney] in 1841, and James D. in 1842. Were these all children who used the Statham name because it was their father's and whose legal name was Dabney, presumably their mother's? Information of this sort is usually found in the Court Orders, and I'm wondering what a close reading of the Fluvanna Orders would show.
