    1. [VALOUISA-L] Hardyman-Hardiman
    2. Been awhile since last request. Still looking. My ancestry records have Col. John Hardiman b. Bristol, Eng 1645, thence in mid 1600's to Charles City Co., Va. md. Mary Eppes (Epes) Among their children was Francis (we call Francis I) md Mary Sarah Taylor. Among Francis I children was Francis II. My records show Francis II married Mary (unknown) and among their children was a John Hardiman b 1738 Albermarle Co. which became part of Buckingham. This John Hardiman married twice. First to Elizabeth (unknown, unsure) had two sons Richard & John. Then married 2nd Elizabeth Baldwin, had 9 children one of which, (Samuel Baldwin) my 2 great grandfather. Question: I need more verification that this John Hardiman b 1738 is the son of Francis Hardiman II. (I have been questioned on this) Question: Does anyone have firm records on Francis II. Who his wife (Mary -unknown) was. This is my real missing link in tying Col. John Hardiman down to the present. Will appreciate any info. Will be glad to trade info. 1. [VALOUISA-L] Mineral, Virginia Inquiry
    2. Harvey Anderson
    3. This information that I'm giving out concerning my family is based on word of mouth without solid support. The furthest back that I can go back is related to my grandfather John Randolph Anderson, regarded as farmer, landowner, country veterinarian, and minister, and possibly a son of a slave. He married India (maiden name unknown), a practicing midwife and either all or part Native American and died right after my birth (1947). His birth year was 1869, in Louisa (Mineral), county, Virginia. My great grandparents are unknown to me on either said of the family. It is thought that one of his parents was of the Caucasian race, and there thought to be true). John and India had a son named believed to be Vivion (killed by a train). He had a brother Harvey Anderson. John and India had four daughters Barbara (lived and died in Mineral, Va.) married Charlie Yancey and sons John, Tom, Chet, Jim, Levi and daughters Elizabeth and Barbara. Emma another daughter (lived and died in Washingt! on, D.C.) married John Traynham and had two sons John and Lawrence. A third Mary Lisa married Willie Shelton and had three children India.Vivion, and Lula and the last daughter Harriet married James Henry and had three son Marion, James and Harvey (both Elizabeth and Harriet lived and died in Richmond, Va). My father was born to Sally Anderson out of wedlock, in the same general region. Nothing more is known of my paternal grandmother than she had more children. All news concerning my family would sincerely appreciated. Harvey R. Anderson eMail: [email protected]

    1. [VALOUISA-L] Re: VALOUISA-D Digest V99 #120
    2. I am hoping to find information on the burial place of William Synan, who married Sarah Terry on 9 January 1821. Sarah and William had the following children: William M. Synan who married Isabella unknown, Elizabeth had daughter Flora (neither of them married), Martha Synan married Ed Sumpter on 22 Jan 1850, James Manual Synan married Betsy Catherine Bibb in 1864 in Orange County, Virginia, Virginia Synan married Ed Taylor, and Edward Synan married Louisa C. Ogg. William Synan was killed in a train accident at Trevillan Station around 1846-1848. He was probably buried somewhere near Trevillians, perhaps on land owned by either the Bibbs or Terrys (speculation). William was an immigrant from Doneraile, Ireland. He came to the US in 1812 aboard a ship which was detained because of the war of 1812. At that time he was only 12 years old. He remained in the US and lived with friends of the Captain of the ship (or perhaps some family relations) first in Petersburg, VA. He later settled in Louisa County, married and raised his family there. He commuted to Charlottesville, VA and worked in the woolen mills there. His death was probably related to one of these commutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hubert V. Synan, Sr. PO Box 1 111 Hillcrest Loop Franklin Springs, GA 30639 706-245-5658 [email protected]

    3. Has anyone ever seen a reference to an Andrew Peay in Louisa County? I have a document that says my Austin Peay (b 1807) was a child of Andrew and Barbara Peay, Louisa Co, VA. Alternatively, does anyone know of Anthony and Barbara Peay, who COULD have been the parents of Austin Peay b 1807? You can view my current thinking on this line at www.public.usit.net/epeay/jpgen.html Thanks, Evans Peay Clarksville, TN Researching Louisa Co, VA Peay, Smith, Sims, Pendleton and Walton.

    3. Alexander McClaran was in Louisa Co, VA in the 1770's. His name is associated with Alexander Parker and George Lumsden. He went from Louisa Co to Rockingham Co, NC (WHEN??) When he died in 1816 in Williamson Co, TN, his will names wife Jane, sons John Duke, Thomas, Daniel Clevius, Alexander Parker, Garland Anderson, and Felix Grundy McClaran; daughter Milcah (pronounced Meekie). Any information on Alexander and Jane (DUKE?) McClaran from Louisa Co, VA is desired. Is he on any tax list? Did he--or any other McClaran own land? (I have a purchase and sale by Daniel and Catherine McClaran, likely Alexander's parents, but no other land record). May I help you in Bedford Co, TN? Carolyn Odle Smotherman
