    1. [VALOUISA-L] Lobb--- HELP !!!!
    2. HELP !!!! I am trying to find Reubin Lobb in VA. He was B-1752. His oldest son was Chapman Lobb B-1778 and the next was Reubin. Siblings were William, Caty, Elizabeth, and Sally. The problem is I don't even know what county to look in. They left VA and went to PA [ according to old family notes] in abt 1790 stayed a very short while and went on to KY in 1798. Lobbs in VA, or anywhere are as scarce as hen's teeth. I found a brief mention of a George Lobb attached to someone else, but not enough to get me started. If I go back to the mid 1600s there is mention of Lobbs as ship's captains. However, I am STUCK in mid 1750s VA. If I could just find a county to research. Any hints? Bill Bentley Hurst TX

    1. [VALOUISA-L] Johnsons
    2. M. Fournier
    3. I am searching for the origins of William JOHNSON who was in Hanover before 1734 and who died there in 1741. His wife, Sarah __?__ died in Louisa in 1760. This family owned the Folly Hill property which was in Hanover before Louisa was formed. They had sons David (m. Mary BERRYMAN) and William. Their daughters were Jane (m. Samuel HAMILTON), Sarah (m. Isaac BERRYMAN), Elizabeth (m. John PALMER), Anne (m. James MOSS) and Frances (m. William STRONG). All the girls except Frances moved to Buckingham County. Any clues or "educated guesses" appreciated. I've hit a brick wall! Mickey Mildred Wright "Mickey" Fournier PO Box 1967, Lake City, FL 32056 [email protected] [email protected]

    1. [VALOUISA-L] David Draper, c. 1750-1827
    2. Gordon & Jane
    3. I am seeking information about the family of David Draper. I believe he was in the Louisa County area as late as 1810. He may have had a wife named Elizabeth, and he had at least one son whose name was also David. I believe the son was born in 1784, but I am not certain as to his place of birth. This family ultimately migrated to Alabama where I believe David, Sr. died in 1827, and David, Jr. died in 1850. I would love to hear from anyone with information about DRAPERs in Louisa County in the period 1750-1820. I'd also be happy to share information. This is a new line for me, and I'd also be interested in knowing if there are any good Louisa County resources I should look for. Gordon Kirkemo [email protected]

    2. Wayne Kendrick
    3. I am seeking information on Daniel Burford of Louisa County circa 1750-1770. I believe he was the sheriff of Louisa County and also had a common boundary with Jacob Kendrick , Rice and Jouett on Contrary Creek. I believe he went to Amherst County after leaving Louisa. If anyone knows anything about his wife and children, please let me know. I believe Luke Burford of Caroline County circa 1745 may be related to him. Wayne Kendrick, Jr.

    3. You can get a copy of the record or submission showing that entry by obtaining form 31831, Request for Photocopies (International Genealogical Index and Sources) from your local FHC. The costs are minimal....$0.25 if you know the page number (sheet number); $0.25 for patron submissions, $2.00 for extracted records (those with batch numbers beginning with C, E. J, K. and M (excluding M17 and M18). Best of luck! The information given is Name, Birth date, and spouse. Additionally there is field titled "Source Information:" which gives me a "Film Number" in one instance and a "Batch Number" in another. I assume there is some way to look up the film number and batch number to find out more information about the individual..Does anyone know if this is true, or how to go about doing it? 3. In 1988 I searched the IGI for a marriage license for my gg grandfather and sent off for the submitter, who died within a few weeks from the time I submitted it. The submitter was Pearl Groome. I noticed that she had submitted quite a few entries and assumed that she had done some genealogy on her family. If there is anyone who is related that is continuing with her work, can you contact me. The work that she was doing was around Louisa County, Virginia, and so was my gg grandfather and gg grandmother. I am writing to this list in the hopes that maybe one of her relatives live in this area. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Dee Randall
