Scott Powell's book on Marshall Co. WV. 1925 334 pages plus an index. Hardback.. Great book on this area. Genealogy Material is wonderful. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=216196153 Thanks, Adrianne
Sharp, William N. , Private listed as member of the Louisa Rifles on p. 82 with narrative about the history of that company, also known as Company "A" of 23rd Regiment. A Thomas Sharp is mentioned as having land adjoining that of Edward Bullock in 1721. Ethel Smith
Would someone who has the book see if William Sharpe, or Thomas J. Sharp or William Nathaniel Sharp are in the book. thanks
Would someone check the book to see if Henry Melton(about 1740) and Michael Hester(1760-1848) are in there. Thanks, Harriet Hester Johnson
Does someone have a copy of Dr. Harris' bookc on Louisa Co.? If so, could they see if there are SPRADLINGs and PHILLIPs listed around the 1740 time frame? Thanks, Tim Spradling
In a message dated 99-12-08 09:30:26 EST, you write: << I do not have a copy, that is why I am leading the charge to get some reprinted. You might post your query to the list! Thanks, Adrianne >> Thanks Adrianne. Tim Does anyone have a copy of the HARRIS book?? If so, are there SPRADLINGs & PHILLIPs listed around the 1740s?? Thanks. Tim Spradling
I am new to the list and may have missed something very important. Woulds someone tell me the general contents of Dr. Harris' Book? Is it the History of Louisa Co.? I may want a copy too! Roy Eastes Gulfport, MS
A list member emailed me the address of Dr. Harris' daughter. I have written a letter to her telling about our wish to reprint her father's book. I will let you good folks know the out come ASAP. We have a book copy to use now. The vote to change/make additions the original work was voted down overwhelmingly. I hope this doesn't disappoint many. I did contact Dietz Press once again and they don't know if he filed any updated copyrights. If they family gives us their blessing, it won't matter. If not, we'll get a legal search done. Cheers! Adrianne
Please add my name to your list of those wanting Dr. Harris's book My name and snail mail address are: Page Richardson Dwight 1314 Kalakaua Ave., Apt. 706 Honolulu, HI 96826-1908 I am researching Shelton, Farrar, Richardson and others mentioned in his book. Thank you.

Dear Listers, As to the Harris lineages, the HARRIS-VA and HSRRIS-HUNTERS lists @rootsweb.com are a good source of information. As a Harris researcher the liste put together (a great labor by some of the members) a merged file of all our data. It is very interestin and scorrcts or at least tries to correct the errors that have come down through the years. Now the origin of the first Jamestown Harris has not been solved the material and cross pollination has proved to be valuable. If you are no a member of that list (as well as this one) try to get on the archives and look through the messages from this summer. Good luck. :) Cheers, Wilma Kelly

Sharper eyes than mine caught one of my typographical errors regarding the Glenn/Harris information I recently posted; Mourning Glenn's death was listed as prior to the birth of the children . . . obviously incorrect . . . I think that you should just ignore it, unless you want to send a complaint to <[email protected] ever ISP>. The sender obviously not very bright or is a child judging just by the tone of the message. Additionally, the owner of the copyright, if there is one and whoever the owner is, it certainly isn't Mr Harris since he is dead. It would either be owned by Mr Harris' estate, a heir or someone it was sold to or who obtained a new one by some means. Should not the publisher be aware of the copyright status. I have been thru this with another book. The printer handled the details. It was a relatively new book and was still in copyright and we paid the apropriate fees. Thanks J. Ray Young
