    1. [VALOUISA-L] The Vote results and Book chatter..
    2. Adrianne
    3. First of all, thanks to everyone who voted. By a land slide, folks want to see the corrections added. To those who were against this I just want to say that the original book will stay as it is with NO CHANGES. The vote clearly indicated that there will be an ****'Addendum section'**** added at the ***'end'*** of the book before the index. It will be clearly marked that the information provided is from a person that is researching the particular family. Everything that is a secondary source should be checked against original records. 1st We also order as a group. The money orders will be sent to ****one person**** to be forwarded to HIGGINSON. This will be a Hard Back book. If you want a Soft-cover, you'll need to order individually, that would mean the price would be about $49.50 plus $6.50 shipping. 2nd We will each pay 'extra' to have the book mailed to us individually. The price will determine the size and weight. The 1st book is priced about $6.50 with $2 for each additional. We'll take the final number and divide that into the total shipping price. 3rd The price of the book will change slightly due to the addendum section. I don't anticipate this addendum being very large because there has only been a few people indicate they have seen the book to make changes. ============================================ Folks the book will cost approximately $33.00 {plus cost of addendum} plus shipping..about $2.50. Notice I am quoting APPROXIMATE. If your budget needs exacts, I don't have that at this moment. ===================================== I have read through the emails and tried to answer every question. If you have others, direct them to me. [email protected] Thanks, Adrianne

    2. Dear List, I am also on the HARRIS-HUNTERS and HARRIS-VA lists @rootsweb.com. I believe that there may be some of us on both of these and the LOUISA list. However there may be people on the Harris lists that are not on this list who would be interested in the book. Any ideas on how we could make it available to them, as well. Those interested could join the list and order it so someone would not have to manage it between the three lists. Any ideas? Cheers, Wilma Kelly

    1. [VALOUISA-L] CLARKSON & BURNHAM
    2. T. David Elder
    3. Hi All, I'm new to the list and looking for my ancestors beginning with gg-grandmother MARY ELIZABETH CLARKSON, (b. 18 Aug 1811, d. 31 Jan 1894) who married 17 Jul 1839 LYMAN BURNHAM/Barnham (b. abt. 1794 in NY, d. unknown) in Albemarle Co., VA. LYMAN BURNHAM had previously been married to ANN MANN TOWNLEY (b.abt.1796). Children of LYMAN BURNHAM and MARY ELIZABETH CLARKSON were: Virginia Ann (b.& d. unknown); Mary Walker (b.15 Jul 1842, d. 26 Oct 1925); Laura Jane (b. Mar 1845, Feb 1922); Robert Franklin (b.& d. unknown); and Alice Clarkson (b. Apr 1851, d. Nov 1920). MARY ELIZABETH (CLARKSON) BURNHAM is buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Gordonsville, VA, in the same section 2 and lot 8 as a NANCY M. CLARKSON (b. 21 Feb 1784, d. 15 Sep 1824) and a LAURA J. CLARKSON (b. 3 Oct 1824, 3 Nov 1904). The dates are from the cemetery records in Gordonsville Town Hall. The dates on NANCY M. CLARKSON are compatible with the strong possiblity that she was the mother of MARY ELIZABETH (CLARKSON) BURNHAM. LAURA J. CLARKSON could have been an unmarried daughter of NANCY M. CLARKSON or daughter-in-law of an unknown son of NANCY. The father of MARY ELIZABETH CLARKSON is not known, but the marriage bond for her was signed by both LYMAN BURNHAM and a JOHN CLARKSON, possibly the one born in Goochland County in 1765. The others buried in the same section 2, lot 8, of the Maplewood Cemetery are ALICE BURNHA and, LAURA J. BURNHAM, the two unmarried daughters of MARY ELIZABETH (CLARKSON) BURNHAM and a MR. and MRS. BURNHAM with no given names or dates. The last residence for all of the BURNHAMS was Lindsey, VA and none given for the two CLARKSONs. The closest relative listed for all those buried in this lot was a Miss Florence Burnham, of Mineral, VA. I would appreciate any help proving the ancestors of MARY ELIZABETH CLARKSON and LYMAN BURNHAM. Thanks, Dave
