Both are acknowledged and recognized patriots for which a DAR member would have claimed for membership. The Pension records are another source of proof of service. If you are interested in DAR membership, it is best to write for a copy of the most recent lineage papers used to claim these patriots...this then can be used as support documentation for your membership.
