    3. Am reading Superior Court of Chancery Records of the Winchester District. This can include Loudoun Co. families. This case, because my database includes a Tillett connection, caught my eye. Hopefully, it will help someone. Frederick County Superior Court of Chancery Reel 299 - Library of Virginia 1828 Tillett versus Tillett 9 May 1827 Seven negro children of a negro woman slave Fanny who were assigned to the defendant Elizabeth Tillett as dower of her deceased husband, Edward Tillett - which children are named: Nancy, Washington, Josiah, Sally, Lewis James and an infant children whose name is unknown. Elizabeth Tillett and James Tillett are named as defendants Plaintiffs are: Samuel Tillett, Charles Vermillion and Jane his wife, Ludwell Gulick and Elizabeth his wife; Alexander Beard and Susanna, his wife; Joseph Shorbe and Mary, his wife. These wives are identified as "late Tilletts, children of Edward Tillett, deceased" Giles Tillett of Loudoun County gives his power of attorney to Alexander Beard. ------- Sorry, I won't do look-ups in these films for others - You may order them through the Library of Virginia on interlibrary loan.
