I am looking for info on John And Lucy Carter who were the parents of Elizabeth carter who married William Maddox. Her given name may be Frances as there is a marriage in D.C. in 1827 between William C. Maddox and Frances Carter. In the Loudoun County Death records it is noted that Elizabeth was the dau of John and Lucy Carter consort of William Maddox . info given by son James. William had predeceased her by about a year in 1884 . According to Census nad Death reocrd she was born about 1817 . Her first child was born 1828 I have found a John Carter in the 1810 census in Loudoun and I believe that this is the correct area of the County but I have not proven this yet. According to death records William's parents were Joseph and Mary Mattox. He was born about 1808. I have very little info on William and Elizabeth . I do not believe that they were land owners but rather renters. The time frame would be about early 1800 in the area of Arcola Pleasant Valley. Susan
