Would like to get a transcription of the 20 Dec 2000 obituary for Werner Lutz Janney, reportedly printed in Washington Post on that date. Believed to be a descendant of Emily Catherine Templer Janney. How can this be done? Tried Washington Post online but could not locate it in their archives. Thanks, Charlie Templer

Dont know if you are aware of it, but when you search the archives you are searching articles submitted by family members, not paid classified obituaries. There is a difference. You cannot search online for classified ads. If you know that there was a classified ad, you can write or call the Post and ask how much it will cost you to get a copy of that paper or the ad itself. And if you get a hit online in the archives, it will be the first article on the page that the article appears on, not the particular article you want. Then you have to set up an account and pay up front befrore they will allow you access to the page. Hope this helps you understand what you are looking for and what you might get.
