    2. You may want to research the Fox family with the Chinn's. I have Anne Chinn b.1682 in Lancaster Co. VA m. William Fox 1701 in Lancaster. Anne is the daughter of John Chynne and Alice Smoot (Alice is from York Co.) William Fox's parents are David Fox and Hannah Ball. I do not know this Hannah Ball's relationship but I have many Ball names in relationship to the Chinns and they are from Lancaster Co. Richmond Co., Mt. Vernon VA - Eppling Forrest, etc. Here is something that might help: Good luck, Janean It is quite probable that John Chinn/Chynn came to America in the mid 1600's and became the first of the name in Virginia. In Hayden's Virginia Genealogy is found the following, "July 3, 1662, Thomas Williams of Morratico, sold to John Chynn of Morratico, Lancaster Co. Planter, and Henry Davys of do.,Shipwright, - a tract of 372 acres of land given to David Fox by Gov. Berkley, on which Williams then lived. John Chynn also received 100 acres on Morratico Creek, Lancaster County for 2 heads. (Refer to Headwrights of the Virginia Company of London), also 370 acres in the same locality on Mar. 17, 1767 or 68. (Virginia Land Book) formerly granted to David Fox, Gentleman; also on the same date John Chynn and Gilson Chynn received a grant of 550 acres in Rappahannock Co. for 11 headwrights. On April 26, 1670, 220 acres were granted to Thomas Wright and John Chynn for 5 heads.
