    3. Hi SuzyQ, Thanks so much for your reply. The work that you are doing for everyone on this site is just incredible! I cannot imagine not having you or all of the other volunteers out there to help us. There would be a zillion "brick walls". Regarding my query: I found out that Mary Hutchi(n)son died before 1804; as the story goes, Amos remarried and left Louden County and went west to Nelson County, KY. He was from the "New Jersy" line of Fox's. So, for now, I guess I am going to have to set aside Amos and Mary. I believe my George W. Fox of the 1830 Boone County, KY census is from that New Jersy line, and as you know there were a bunch. George W. Fox died in Switzerland County, IN in April, 1850 and the IN State death record listed him as being 66 years old, a farmer and from VA. Given his age, he would have been born circa 1884. I know that I have seen info regarding a George Fox that was born in 1884 in VA, but I don't recall how I came about that information. As for the infamous Amos of Louden County, his brother, Gabriel, is the one that owned several mills in that area. From what I understand, he bought his brothers out and took over. They all scattered after that! So, I just don't have any counties to work with in VA, but again, I want to thank you for all of your hard work. Have a great day, and a better tomorrow! God's blessings... 3. According to the 1804 land taxes, list B, Joseph Fox was a tenant [farmer] in Loudoun. He paid taxes on 99 acres from [Mr.] Asbury, 100 acres from one of the Hutchisons [I didn't extract the given name], and 135 acres from Wm. James. George Fox, of Kingwood, Hunterdon Co., died testate in 1754. According to an abstract of his will, he left survivors wife Mary, sons George, Ambrose, Absolem, Amos, Gabriel, all under age. Yet the book says exors were sons George and Gabriel. If this is your "bunch" I strongly recommend looking at original wills. I took this info from p. 120 of Documents Relating to the Colonial History of the State of New Jersey, First Series, Vol. XXXII, i.e., calendar of NJ wills, etc. Vol. III 1751-1760, by A. Van Doren Honeyman, Heritage Books, Bowie, Md. Ambrose wandered off to the Valley. In 1791 he (or another Ambrose Fox) was in Rockingham Co., Va. You can find him in the minutes books abstracted by Levinson. An Ambrose Fox paid personal property taxes in Loudoun 1798-1804. 3. Dear Ms. Hyatt, I'm sorry for the delay in answering your very informative email about my Fox family. I do believe that they are my ancestors. The info that you provided will certainly go a long way in my quest for the Fox family ancestors. Thank-you so much for all of the effort you put forth in this search. Have a great day, and God's blessings!
