I am looking for ancestors and connections to the WISSINGER surname in this area in the late 1700's and 1800's. Spelling variations include: WISINGER, WIESINGER, WIESSINGER, WEISINGER, WEISSINGER, WISENGER, WHISNER, etc. The immigrant family settled in the Frederick Co., Md. area in 1740. Some evidence of this surname has been found in Charles Town, Ransom and Harper's Ferry areas and I have been trying to piece together the connections with little luck.
