Shelvy, I don't know if there is a Shoemaker connection but I think there be. My great Uncle was named Jerry Harper Shoemaker and there had to be a reason to use a surname for a middle name. I haven't found it and Shoemaker's went to Loudoun County after coming in to Philadelphia. In my "Shoemaker Pioneer Book" my husband found while I was writing this. Amy Shoemaker b.1761 m. Benjamin Harper Cheltenham Twp., PA Edward Shoemaker m. Fiannia Harper..........something about Shoemakersville, Benango Co. PA. Children were: Owen; Emma; Charles; Tilman; Ella; and Oliver. I sure haven't been much help but I guess I am searching a Shoemaker book and not a Harper one. I will keep your email just in case. Good luck Tootsie Shoemaker T.
