    3. Hi Bob, I did some lookups for your Wissinger's in Jefferson County, W.Va. There were only a couple listed. Only one family in 1850 census, no others in 1840-1920 census records that I could find. Keep in mind that some of the later census records for 1800's was lost due to fire. Here is what I did find. 1850 census Jeff.co. 28th district dwelling #1379 family #1394 George Weisinger (79 years old) born in Va. occupation: none Habe Weisinger (56 years old) born in Va. occupation: none _________________________________ old newspaper article Farmers Repository P3C3 1815, July 13 notice: list of letters at Harprs Ferry Post Office John Wissinger (among others) Spirit of Jefferson P3C3 1846, July 3 letters at post office George Wissinger Virginia Free Press P3C4 1847, Aug.5 notice: George Wissinger of Virginius, Harpers Ferry, wants to employ journeyman blacksmith. Spirit of Jefferson P3C7 1853, Aug.23 notice: Mrs. George Wissinger for whom county levy has been made is member of undersigned's family, never has or will receive aid while under his care. James W.
