No, it is Simms, definitely. See the book "Ancestors and Descendants of Thomas Sims of Culpeper County, Virginia Edmund Butler of Virginia and Kentucky with Allied Families and Other Culpeper Data" Compiled and Published by Lela Wolfe Prewitt in 1972, for documented relationships basically through Walter Hamden Simms being born along with his siblings. It really begins with the finding of the first appearance of William, whose son is Thomas that is the title character. The Va State Library used to have a lendable copy. A couple of books that have come out since that one have some erroneous information in them-data was not all documented, spellings were incorrect, etc. James Aldridge was my husband's grandfather. Will share with you if you wish. My husband has a couple of questions for you: What is your basis for Sarah Elizabeth Hawkins being born in Amissville, VA? Her death record states that she was born in Hughes River, VA which is right on the border of Rappahannock, Culpeper and near Madison County. Her family may have lived in any of those three counties and had a Hughes River address. This is the area in which the Hawkins family resided (Hughes River.) Then he also would like to know the basis of the comment that "Tthe battle was Picketts Charge," if we are reading that comment correctly, with regard to Walter Hamden Simms? I am so pleased that you posted the children of Charles and Damaris, as well as Charles's parents and grandparents. Also the data on their first daughter. Thank you so much for sharing that information. Perhaps it is time for us to email privately for sharing. I cannot send you a printed form like you sent as I have never entered the Simms data in my software program. Too busy with other lines, for which we have no printed books. I do have some of the Hawkins line in FTM. Tosca EuroCastles@aol.com wrote: > I can attest to that.
