    1. [VALOUDOU-L] My earliest Loudoun Co. ancestor
    2. In response to Rena's suggestion -- my oldest known ancestor in Loudoun Co. is Nelson ROBESON/ROBINSON b. 1809 in Loudoun Co. By 1820 he was living in Lewis Co., (W)V with Abram REGER and his wife Leah Brake REGER and in 1821 was shown in the Lewis County Chancery Records as an orphan age 12 living in the REGER home. It is my guess that he must have been related somehow to the REGER or BRAKE lines probably thru his mother. In the 1810 Loudoun Co. census there is a mention of Sarah ROBINSON with several small children. In 1830 Lewis County census there is a Sarah ROBINSON but I can't prove that this is the same woman or that she could be the mother of Nelson. Nelson married in 1833 and had 5 children: Marshall L. a name often in the REGER line, Cecelia after the first daughter born to Abram and Leah Brake REGER (she and Nelson would have been raised together in the same home and about 5 yrs difference in age), Elam Cummins who was my 2g grandfather. Because of his middle name I have tried to find a connection to the CUMMINS line of Loudoun (Tabitha CUMMINS married Job WARD and the WARD line also ties into the REGER and BRAKE lines) but because of the date of Tabitha's birth about 1764, she could have been a sister of Nelson's mother. I know that I am grasping at straws here! Tabitha was supposedly the d/o James CUMMINS and Charity CARMONS. Does anyone know of other siblings of Tabitha? Also, the WARD, REGER, BRAKE lines were all in the same area of what is now WV in the early 1800's. I am planning a trip to Loudoun County this summer to search for any possible deeds that a ROBINSON might have had about 1810, will, inventory, etc. I have tried to search for some of this online but couldn't find a record of any marriage between a CUMMINS and ROBINSON. I know that there was a John ROBINSON who was a Revolutionary War veteran and was living in 1818 in Hampshire Co., VA and even tho he was shown in his pension application as being age 72 with a wife named Margaret who was supposed to be age 64, John ROBINSON stated that he had 3 children who still lived at home--Elizabeth age 20, Nelson age 11 and another child age 9. The pension application was approved even tho having children this age seems highly unlikely! But the Nelson could be the same person as the one I am searching for. I have a copy of the pension application from National Archives. If anyone can be of help or offer any suggestions I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for your time and help.
