I have recently learned that my ggg grandfather, Samuel ANDREW (sometimes spelled ANDREWS), had a 3 life lease from George William Fairfax in Loudoun County. The lease probably was executed c. 1781. I have checked the Loudoun deed index and found no entries for Samuel Andrew(s). Is anyone familiar with other leases (indentures) from this period (i.e., c. 1780) that are recorded in the Loudoun deed books? I know that in other counties such leases were recorded during this same time period. On one occasion, I have seen my ancestor's name written as Samuel Adams on an official document. Playing a hunch, I will appreciate it if anyone with the Loudoun deed abstracts for the period c 1780 - 1790 will check for any Samuel with a surname beginning with "A." If you find such an entry (entries) I would like to know the name(s), and all names mentioned in the specific document. Thanks in advance for your help. Jim Messersmith Rockville, VA
