To All, Is there anyone out there that can answer a question for me? Why on some of the census records does it list woman that should be married as "Spinster"? I believe I was looking at the 1860 Scott Co., VA census, but I have seen this term used on other census records. The people I was looking at were suppose to be married and had several children.
