I'm looking for a connection between the Porters and Wilsons and/or Chinn family because my John Wilson and wife Elizabeth Travers Chinn named a son Samuel Porter Wilson and cannot figure out why he was named that. Also named a son Jacob Doddridge Wilson, same thing.... looking for connections. Both boys died fairly young but the Wilson name is giving me fits and hoping the Porter and Doddridge names will lend some insight. I have to agree with your that if someone has the middle name of Porter, Samuel Porter Wilson, there should be a connection. The Porters were in Loudoun and perhaps were good friends of the Wilson family or neighbors. As everyone knows, I struggle to find the parents of my ggggrandfather Philip Porter b. abt 1754 married to Nancy Ann Brent. b. 1766.
