    1. Re: VALOUDOU-D Digest V05 #200
    2. Yes, Agnes, I have seen the Remax home, and visited it a few years ago right after my parents died. Daddy had told me that Dr. had that house built. The entrance on the left side was for his office, and the entrance on the right was the residence. That was NOT the home where Mary Towner Jones gave birth and died, though. That home was near the "five corners" road, and was across the street from a church and a cemetery, according to Aurelia McCormick Jewell, our cousin (married to Walter Towner Jewell, son of Mary's sister, Edith Towner). I think a Baptist church, the Goodhope Baptist Church may have been nearby as well. I need to get out that way and explore around. Dr's second wife, by the way, Minnie Francis (her mother's maiden name) JOHNSTON, was from Evergreen Mills. Her father, James Johnston, was the miller of Evergreen Mills. We used to go by their old home on our many Sunday rides in the country when I was a child. Don't know if it is still standing, though. Thanks! Patti
