    3. Susan I'm sure we have probably talked before but you have me very curious now about the Noland/Ball line you mention here. I am working on my Wilson/Chinn line and am investigating all connected families looking to break my brick wall. I have probably worked harder on piecing together the Powell and Noland lines more so than some of my own because I believed from the start they connected and have found that they have. But then again, back then the families were so large we are all related I think. I'm curious about this James May Ball Jr. I show Rosalie in my database but with no husband. I am a Ball descendant as well. I show Rosalie's parents as Rosalie Haxall and George/Cuthbert Powell Noland. Not sure why I have two names for him. Her grandfather was R. Barton Haxall. Children I have for them are Lloyd, Barton, Charlotte, George/Cuthbert, Rosalie, Katherine. I found Dr. Lloyd Noland while investigating his great grandfather Lloyd Noland that married Ann Whiting "Nancy" Powell and Elizabeth Winn Smith who was the daughter of Sarah Beveridge sister to William Beveridge that married Lucy Chinn sister to my Elizabeth that married John Wilson ------------ Confused??????? I knew these families all connected and hoped it would lead to more Wilsons...... (as Pat Duncan is laughing at me and she knows why..... stop it Pat) LOL Anyway, I found that Maj. Burr Powell Noland m. Susan Chaplain Wilson but it wasn't until I got the Tavenner Collection that I found out she was the daughter of John Knox Wilson and Susan Chapline(sp) John Knox Wilson is the son of William R. Wilson and Jane King and brother to Judge William Wilson who was an Illinois Supreme Court Justice. I believe they are the nephews to my John Wilson and Elizabeth Chinn. Now I'm on a KING mission as well as BOYD both of whom seemed to maybe come out of Berkeley Co. Martinsburg. WV. I have brought all these families together in a very large circle but just can't quite connect the ends. SO all that being said, let me tell you my BALL connection so I can understand where this James May Ball Jr. came from. I descend from ESTHER BALL and RAWLEIGH CHINN. I am also a TRAVERS and a TARPLEY, PAYNE, MITCELL ........... if they lived in the Northern Neck it appears I am related. LOL. 3. Janean I am interested in Chinn, Chunn and Harle, Harrell etc. connections which you may have. A man named Baldwin Harle etc. who bought lots in Abingdon, Va. about 1780 was supposed to have been raised by a Chinn family of Northern Va. Chinn was a food merchant who traveled through Abingdon, Va. and over in the mountains of western NC. Baldwin Harle lived in VA. and Tennessee and his descendents later moved to Texas. A few years ago, I met a Dr. Harle from Texas in Abingdon, Va. who was searching this family. I am mostly interested in the family of Baldwin Harle and who his parents were. Thanks for any Information, Clues or Discussion of this subject. G. Lee Hearl Authentic Appalachian Storyteller Abingdon, Va.

    3. Unfortunately in all my Chinn research I have never seen the Harle/Harrell name. My Chinn family was mostly in the Lancaster area and were Planters and large land owners of some 3300 acres sons receiving 500 a. each some of which land became Middleburg, Va. Loudoun Co., I have no information on any Chinn's outside of Loudoun Co. area. There are hundreds of Chinns maybe someone will see this. ----- Original Message ----- From: "G.
